Peace at Home | Parenting, Marriage, Faith, Nervous System, Emotional Regulation, Triggers, Anger
Are you an overwhelmed mom who feels emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode? Do you find yourself yelling at your kids, feeling triggered by motherhood, doom-scrolling to escape, or wondering why creating a peaceful home feels so hard?
Maybe you're carrying guilt and shame because you love your family deeply, but you aren't showing up as the mom, wife, or woman you want to be. Maybe you're wondering, Why do I keep snapping? Why do I feel out of control? Why don't I enjoy motherhood the way I thought I would?
Mama, you are in the right place.
This podcast is for Christian moms who want more than behavior management and survival strategies. Together, we'll get to the root of emotional overwhelm, mom anger, burnout, family disconnection, and the patterns keeping you stuck. We'll talk about emotional healing, peaceful parenting, faith, marriage, motherhood, breaking generational cycles, and becoming the woman God uniquely created you to be.
Because healing yourself changes everything.
You'll learn how to:
• Stop yelling and respond with more peace and connection
• Heal emotional triggers and regulate your nervous system
• Create a calm, connected family culture
• Strengthen your marriage and family relationships
• Break generational cycles
• Stop losing yourself in motherhood and enjoy it again
• Live with more joy, purpose, and emotional freedom
I'm Lindsay van Orsouw, a Catholic Christian, working mom, and stepmom. For years I felt like the mom I wanted to be and the mom I actually was were two different people. I tried parenting strategies, productivity systems, and household solutions, but they all left me even more depleted, resentful, and disconnected.
When I finally surrendered my motherhood (and my marriage) to God, everything began to change. He showed me that creating peace at home starts much deeper than routines and parenting techniques. It starts with healing, connection, and learning how to love from an overflowing heart.
Today my family gets a happier, more peaceful version of me, and I’ve fallen in love with motherhood all over again.
If you're ready to heal, create a peaceful home, and become the mom, wife, and woman God created you to be, get your luke-warm coffee ready.
Welcome home.

Do you feel like you’re carrying the emotional weight of your entire family because your husband feels distant, unavailable, or unloving?
Do you find yourself swinging between resentment, exhaustion, and guilt—and then feeling ashamed that it’s affecting how you show up as a mom?
Are you trying harder to be patient, respectful, or “a better wife,” but nothing seems to change the emotional disconnection in your marriage?
In this episode, I’m sharing how to show up as a grounded, emotionally regulated mother when your marriage feels emotionally painful or disconnected, so that you can stop spiraling into resentment, reclaim your peace, and show up with dignity and strength in your motherhood again.
We get honest about what it feels like when a husband feels emotionally unavailable, especially during seasons of grief, stress, or disconnection—and why this experience can feel so destabilizing for moms.
You’ll learn a practical emotional and spiritual framework for what to do when “trying harder” doesn’t fix the disconnection, including:
How to acknowledge and process the grief of emotional loneliness in marriage without suppressing it
How forgiveness functions as emotional release (not tolerance of mistreatment), and why resentment keeps you stuck in reactive parenting patterns
How shifting your focus away from your husband and back onto your identity as a mother restores clarity, energy, and emotional regulation
How to rebuild a sense of purpose, dignity, and groundedness in motherhood even when your relationship feels unsupported
You’ll walk away understanding that your emotional overwhelm is not random—it is deeply connected to unmet emotional needs, chronic resentment cycles, and internalized pressure to “hold everything together.”
Most importantly, you’ll leave with a path forward to stop letting marital disconnection dictate your mood, your parenting, and your sense of self.
